Celebrating Strong Women: A Personal Reflection

On this International Women’s Day, my heart is full as I reflect on the incredible women who have shaped my journey and the strength I’ve discovered within myself. Each woman before me—whether a mother, a mentor, a friend, or a historical figure—has laid a foundation for me to build upon, and I stand today as a testament to their struggles, dreams, and resilience.

There have been times when doubt crept in, when I questioned whether I was enough or could truly make a difference. Society has often tried to define me by what I should be, how I should act, and what I should achieve, but I’ve learned that the power of being a woman is in refusing to fit into someone else’s mold. The real strength is in the moments when I dared to be unapologetically myself, when I stood tall in my vulnerability and chose to be courageous even when fear whispered otherwise. Those are the moments when I realized just how resilient I truly am.

But it’s not just about me. Every woman I’ve encountered has inspired me in ways I never expected. The women who have supported me and lifted me up when I felt like I couldn’t go on have been my constant source of strength. Their voices, their encouragement, and their wisdom have been the pillars I lean on. And on days when I’ve stumbled, I remember the women who stood before me, fighting for the rights and opportunities that allow me to live and work freely. Their legacy lives in me, in all of us.

On this day, how could I not remember my Guru, Lakshmi Ramachandran? I am grateful to her whose wisdom, guidance, and unwavering support have empowered me to grow, overcome challenges, and achieve more than I ever imagined.

This day, above all, serves as a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles or victories. Every choice we make, every time we speak out, every time we support each other, we are creating a path for the women who will come after us. We are breaking down barriers, rewriting the story, and ensuring that future generations will rise higher, run farther, and dream bigger than we ever could.

Today, I celebrate the strength of being a woman—the strength to rise after falling, the strength to love fiercely, and the strength to keep going even when the world makes it hard. And when I look around at the women in my life, I know that we are unstoppable. Together, we are more than capable. We are a force. And nothing, absolutely nothing, can hold us back.
